I acquired a few items from a fellow collector. One item is, they believed, a hose cover (unflown and I think, unused) for a A7L suit. There was no provenance for it, so I knew there was a risk when I bought it. I'd like to check out whether this item is likely to have been made for an A7L suit. It's about 89cm long, and in the region of 2.5cm diameter. Both ends are machined. One end is smooth, the other has a triple stitching arrangement, and a slightly rough edge, so I'm not certain this was the original length (although it seems likely). I've had a look at the on-line suit handbooks, but I can't find lengths for the hoses. Can anyone advise me if these sizes seem plausible, or if I've bought something different? Thanks! |

Photos would be useful - in the meantime are you able to confidently ID the material as Beta-cloth rather than Nomex (or any other material)? | |
