I picked up a nice first edition copy of "Man's Conquest of Space" by William R. Shelton at a book sale at my church tonight. If anyone is familiar with this book, can you please tell me if the spacewalk photo on the dust jacket is of Ed White, or if it was a later Gemini spacewalk? I looked through the first few pages for a notation, but wasn't able to find one. I know this isn't a valuable or rare book, but I'm very much enjoying the photography and illustrations in it. |

Is this the National Geographic book? White is on the first edition, I believe Jim Irwin (Apollo 15 EVA) on the second edition.

Yes, this is the National Geographic book you mentioned. Thanks for confirming that it's White on the cover! | |
