Last Thursday (August 13th) I bought a photo of Captain Mitchell on the moon beside the US flag off his website. I paid a total of $65 ($55 base fee, $5 extra for a 10 word inscription and another $5 for shipping and handling to Ireland.)The amazing thing is that the photo arrived this morning in Ireland (just 6 days since I bought the photo) and the postmark says August 13th so it was signed and mailed out on the very day I bought it which I think is amazing! I was not only impressed by the speed and condition in which it arrived, but also by the friendliness of the emails I received from his Executive Assistant Cathy Beals in response to my questions. I asked her to get him to sign in silver in the black sky above his head and write a particular 10 word quote, which is EXACTLY what I got. I'm also grateful to Ed for keeping his fee so reasonable to us collectors. All in all I am very impressed by the simplicity of this order! Has anyone else had good/bad experiences with your own items through the mail or by buying autographs off his website? |

Andy Green (Stardome) and I had the pleasure of meeting Cathy during a visit to Ed Mitchell's home in May of this year.Dr Mitchell was most kind and accomodating in granting us the opportunity and Cathy is a very nice lady. It was a pleasure to meet them both. I have no doubts that any dealings with Dr Mitchell will be faultless; Cathy will make sure of it. |

I purchased his book earlier in the year via his web site. I received it in less than ten days inscribed as asked. I too was very surprised by the turn around time. |

I hope the inscription and autograph make the book easier to comprehend! |

Just thought I'd put my first photo up on cS so I know how to do it. Here's a scan of the 10x8 signed photo Captain Mitchell sent through the mail, just as I asked: |

I have ordered signed items three times from Dr Mitchell's website and each time they were signed as I requested and arrived extremely quickly... And also concur that Cathy Beals has been incredibly helpful on each occasion.Below is the last one I bought via his website (same photo as yours Shane): |

I recently sent an item into Edgar Mitchell to get signed and got it back yesterday only 7 days after I mailed it to him! Thats an extremely quick turanround for anyone anywhere-let alone from Il to FL and back. He signed it exactly as I asked with some extra words I asked him to write. I highly recommend getting his autograph this way. I couldnt have been more pleased yesterday after opening my box. |

I met Edgar Mitchell back in 2003 at a comic book convention in KC. He was quiet and didn't say much but was very happy to sign whatever you asked (for a fee) and place any sort of inscription. He also happily posed for photos. Really warm and great guy! A little more quiet and reserved than other astronauts, but still one of my favorites! |

I mailed two metallic print, 11x14's, Antares on the plains of Fra Mauro and the other a shot from behind of Dr. Mitchell during the second EVA. Mailed on Jan 27th and received on February 3rd! Signed exactly as I asked and in mint condition. I couldn't be more pleased. He and Cathy are good people to deal with. By the way, Monday is the 40th anniversary of that EVA - makes the photo a bit more special to me. |

Dr. Mitchell is one of the most gracious and accommodating of all the Apollo signers, not to mention being one of the most interesting people you'd ever want to meet. And Cathy's a terrific pro. |

I too had a wonderful experience obtaining the signature of Cptn. Mitchell through his personal website. I selected a photo that's not one of the well-known images of Mitchell from the original Apollo archives, enhanced it and sent it along. I had Mitchell if he'd pose with the photo, or while signing, and he did. Unique inscription and an all-around wonderful experience; just a classy person. |

Sent an own remastered picture to Dr. Mitchell to be signed. Had an e-mail conversation with Cathy about my requests, the payment, etc. before. Made the payment through Paypal and one week later the autograph was delivered in Sweden. Signed exactly just as I wanted. Total price 100$ with shipment from and to Sweden and date and mission added. Hats off for Dr. Mitchell and Cathy for an excellent job = highly recommended! |

I also received a signed 8x10 from Mr. Mitchell. I sent $85 by Registered Post from Ireland and I received it personalised with mission info 12 days later. I also talked to Cathy via email and she couldn't have been more accommodating. If you have any doubts about doing it, do not hesitate to do so. The transaction is fast and flawless!! Thank you Mr Mitchell and Cathy! |

Got his autograph after only 14 days! I sent him my mom's drawing with him, letter, $3 to return shipping. Great success. And extra he or Ms. Cathy (probably) added piece of cardboard and wrapped it into plastic foil. They are just great. I am smiling and dancing whole day. |

I waited months to get Mitchell to sign my panorama in person at Spacefest 3. Unfortunately, I wasn't as prepared as I should have been. I usually ask the astronaut to come up with something relevant to the photo. Alan Bean, Richard Gordon, Charlie Duke and Dave Scott did a great job of coming up with some amazing inscriptions. Putting Dr. Mitchell on the spot was not a good idea. He gave me a rather simple and boring inscription. As I said, it wasn't his fault. I should have been better prepared. Even so, I wish I'd discussed the inscription with him before he started writing. Maybe between the two of us, we could have come up with something a bit more inspirational. I'm going to get Dr. Mitchell to sign another panorama for me at the ASF show in November. This time, I'll be ready for him. |

I will be meeting Dr. Mitchell at his home in about a month. I bought a copy of his relatively new book "Earthrise." I wanted to ask him to sign it. Do you think he would sign it for free while I am at his house? If no how much would it be? Do I bring cash or how does that work? Thanks! |

If he's being nice enough to meet with you at his house, and he usually charges for autographs, I would not expect him to sign for free. Bring a check. |

Just be sure to establish price before signing. He may seem to think the price should be $150 since that what he asks at shows. His website says $75. And, he may prefer cash to a check. |

Just a suggestion, but you could always bring a small gift or token of your appreciation. I know money is probably preferred. I've always thought of presenting a challenge coin from my office and a small token from my Navy days; especially with the amounts of lectures that I've attended when CAPT Crippen was a speaker.I would however take the advice of our knowledgeable cS members and therefore bring some cash! |

Thank you everyone for their help! I definitely planned on having $75 with me just in case. I will let everyone know how it went the second week of June. |

I see where Edgar Mitchell's website appears to be down. Does anyone know if he is still accepting TTM requests? |

I mailed two rather expensive things to sign with a fairly big check about six weeks ago. Got a strange, noncommittal email about it three weeks ago, then haven't heard anything back about it or received the items (and the check is unwashed). I've sent a couple emails since and gotten no response. Now I'm hoping the items were signed and maybe I'll get them back. |
