I have a print that I've been "collecting" the Apollo astronauts signatures on... I am missing four of the surviving astronauts though and would like to know what my chances of obtaining the last four are and how! - Armstrong - no chance!
- Anders - no chance with my salary! (signature circa $2k)
- Mattingley - any chance?
- Schmitt - any chance?

Always remember to look through space books at used book stores and at used book sales.Autographed books are out there. |

I know the feeling regarding those four. Mattingly is readily available and fairly inexpensive but I will never be able to afford an Armstrong. Maybe someday a 3x5 card or cut autograph matted beneath a portrait... that's it. Anders is desirable but not at those prices. |

Are you trying to get your print signed or are you just trying to get the rest of the signatures? If you are just trying to get signatures, none are that difficult. Armstrong will be expensive $1k plus generally, sometimes less. Anders you can sometimes find for $250 or so. Mattingly and Schmitt are easier to find. If you are trying to get your print signed I don't see it happening. Schmitt might do another signing with Novaspace so he might be a possibility. My understanding is Adm. Mattingly does no signings. As MarylandSpace pointed out there are signed books out there, though other than Schmitt, finding one signed by any of the others would be rare. |

Schmitt signed one item each for seven of us who had waited quite a while after he had spoke at KSC years ago. I was very surprised to get his autograph in public. Mattingly gladly signed three items for me during the AHOF weekend at KSC a few years back. I hear the only way you can get anything from Mattingly is to meet him in person. The opportunities are indeed rare, (especially with Schmitt) but there is still a chance with these two, if you mean to get only your item signed. And Armstrong and Anders? I now would consider myself extremely lucky just to shake their hands! |

I know there are previous posts about Bill Anders on here. It's too bad he's not as open about signing as his crew mates Jim Lovell and Frank Borman. That's one I'll probably never get add to my collection. |

Thank you for your replies......sorry, I didn't make it clear, my print has 15 Apollo astronaut signatures on it with only four possibly left outstanding i.e. only interested in my print being signed. Living in England I am reluctant to send my print to, say Mattingly or Schmitt, on the off-chance they may sign it. |
