Has anyone tried shipping something like this to Senator Glenn(I'm thinking about sending the base of the Danbury Mint Friendship 7 model to get autographed) for autograph and had success. The only thing I've sent him before was 8x10 picture of him and myself, but not sure if he signs models or things like that. And whats the best way to do it. Send it in a self addressed, properly postaged return package inside a larger outgoing package. Or include a money order with enough to cover packaging and shipping back? Thanks in advance for the info. |

I sent just the base in a bubblewrap self-addressed, stamped envelope inside of a larger envelope. Signed in silver it looks sweet. Good luck! Rob |

I did the same ... I included a nice letter, and I used a box instead of an envelope (the box was large enough to fit the base inside, but it was tight enough that it would just fit diagonally without moving around -- that way I didn't have to use bubble wrap and risk smudging the signature). I sent along a silver Sharpie, and I said he could keep the pen (which he did).I packed the base in the box I wanted it returned in (addressed back to me ... the only thing he had to do was sign and seal the box with the packing tape I included). I then packed that box in a slightly larger box, and I affixed postage onto BOTH boxes before I sealed the outer box and mailed it. He inscribed it to me, and it looks truly outstanding. It is now one of my favorite items! ------------------ John Capobianco Camden DE |

Thanks for the info Rob and Capoetc. I really appreciate the responses.I know each time is different, but I'm just curious how long it took for both of you to receive them back. Thanks again |

Hello....I have exactly the same model of Friendship 7 and mailed the base to Senator Glenn. I received it back in short order with his typical beautiful handwriting !! I sent a nice letter along with the base and he signed it in silver sharpie and ever so nice !! That was only a couple of months ago. What a fine gentleman !! Good Luck !!Donald Brady Jr. |
