I started with my spaceflight hobby at the time the first Sputnik was launched in October 1957. Half a century ago! Although the word space is burned in my eyes, it never took over my life.

I have met most of the world's astronauts and cosmonauts. The past 10 years I used my collection for non-profit youth exhibitions and lectures at schools.

I celebrate my 50 years of collecting with an exhibition at the Amsterdam Science Museum NEMO. On display I have 45 showcases and 65 displays that will tell the story of space history.

Included are the story of Jules Verne "Flight to the Moon" in models, historical showcase with models of Goddard, von Opel and von Braun. The line from V2 until the first Sputnik in Russia and Explorer in the US all in models. Also included are models of von Braun and Disney in the early 50s.

There are also showcases with: space food, working in space, heat shields, asteroids, Chinese rockets, etc.. The last showcase will show models of Ares I and V, Orion and the future Moon-Mars lander of the Constellation program.

The exhibition is open to the public from Oct. 4 and will close around Nov. 1. If you are in the neighbourhood of Amsterdam, The Netherlands: Welcome!

Note: I always had one question in my mint: How many real spaceflight collectors are their in the world or US or any country?
