I have a friend whom I have lost contact with who did this in the 50's at Woomera. She was not that old at the time in her teens she tells story's of herself and the rest of the "wunderkinder" as what they called so im lead to believe, in what was an amazing part of her life. |

Any details on the telescope? Looks like a SCT Schmidt-Cassegrain Telescope. |

I bet its hard following the bright target against that bright cloud cover at such high magnification. |

With that setup she is likely tracking the launch with some high-powered binocs not looking through the extreme telescopic lens off to the side. That trailer appears to be some 3 to 4 miles from the pad, probably a bit north of the VAB? |
