I was wondering if there is a list of cSPACE members eBay IDs, particularly sellers? I would feel somewhat more confident bidding on a members' items than good ole Uncle Joe who found this nice picture at a yard sale and thinks it is worth a fortune because it looks like a real astronaut signed it.If not you can post the info here perhaps. |

Perhaps there could be an option for members to reveal their seller IDs on a master list of sorts, if they choose to do so. Otherwise, the common practice appears to be for sellers to post a notice of their recent auctions in the Buy-Sell-Trade forums (often with a direct link), if they want attention drawn to their auctions. However, membership to collectSPACE does not guarantee that an eBay seller will either be honest or credible. I've seen several instances where members of collectSPACE (some quite well known) have auctioned some autographed pieces on eBay that I personally found to be very questionable. Often, I suspect the seller simply doesn't have the knowledge or experience to authenticate what they are selling. In other cases, however, it appeared to me that the seller was "dumping" some of their ill-advised purchases off onto other collectors...items they knew (or suspected) were likely forgeries. And then you have the outright forgers, who have likely been within our midst at one time or another. Therefore, any master list of collectSPACE members and their eBay IDs would need to come with a disclaimer noting the listing of their eBay IDs is not an endorsement of the seller's honesty or integrity. | |
