Florida Today: Rocket too rusty to refurbish
It's just an old, rusted relic. But for those who loved the Titan 1 rocket in front of Titusville High School, saying goodbye was hard.

Save the Rocket Foundation Chairwoman Angie Sharkey's voice quavered as she explained why her group has given up its quest to refurbish the rocket, on display off U.S. 1 at the school's entrance for 34 years.

Too many years of damage forced the group to rethink its mission, funded by in-kind and cash donations, and turn ownership over to Brevard Community College's SpaceTEC program, Sharkey recently told City Council members.
