Did the Apollo lunar rover have a reverse gear? And if so was there a rear view mirror?

I wonder if the Orion rovers will be automated and used after the astronauts return to Earth like the Martian rovers are today.

From NASA: "A T-shaped hand controller situated between the two seats controlled the four drive motors, two steering motors and brakes. Moving the stick forward powered the LRV forward, left and right turned the vehicle left or right, pulling backwards activated the brakes. Activating a switch on the handle before pulling back would put the LRV into reverse. Pulling the handle all the way back activated a parking brake."

"Going in reverse was possible with one dismounted crew member confirming the general condition of the surface to be covered, but this was not often done."

It would have been easier for the two guys to just pick it up and turn it around, then drive off forward.

All times are CT (US)
