This Gus Grissom lithograph was sold at our auction earlier this year. I am looking for opinions on the signature and inscription.
The buyer thinks it is a print and not authentic. I want to know if there are any other exact matches out there. Please weigh in.

If you send it to me, I'd be happy to examine it under a scope... gratis for the Space Walk of Fame.
I don't have a matching example in my files. I believe sometimes they signed a stack of photos and then went back later and did dedications... that can account for the two different inks. That said, the only way to know with certainty is under a scope.

Steve, I appreciate your offer. I am going to discuss this with the director of the museum today. It is my opinion we should authenticate the piece and if it is not as advertised issue a 100% refund plus shipping. I also spoke to Ken Havekotte and he has never encountered this as a printed example either.
Steve if you would e-mail me your contact info, I will be sure it finds its way to you and thank you again.
