I just purchased an Jim Irwin signed litho from a second-hand store for fairly cheap ($29). Just wondering what your thoughts are on the inscription and signature. It appears to look different than his typical pre-printed inscription "His Love from the Moon". Also, "Delta" could either be a person's name or perhaps referring to Mt. Hadley Delta? Any opinions are greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your thoughts and opinions. I value your expertise. It does say "23 Sept 82". The inscription "His Love from the Moon" appears to be hand written. I'm not 100% positive though. It looks different than the common pre-printed inscription. Any thoughts? |

It looks genuine to me. I think it's inscribed to someone named Delta and the date is 23 Sept 82. In any event, the signature is good.I'd buy these all day at $29. Great Deal! |

My understanding is the quote, "His love from the Moon" is done by an autopen while the inscription name and the signature are by the astronaut. |

You do usually see the pre printed, "His Love Form The Moon" on most lithos, but in this case it does seem to be all hand written. |

The preprinted "His Love From The Moon" were plentiful available and this one certainly looks genuine.I believe some cS forum member once offered a stack of these lithos via the Irwin Foundation at $75 a piece... Ten years later these have doubled in price. |

In the 70' and 80's Jim would personally write "His Love From The Moon" on photos. In later years to save time he had that quote preprinted and would sign it as well as personalize it to whoever. Yours appears to be completely authentic. |
