Any idea what the value of a single shuttle TMG would be? It's a Series 4000 TMG.

They are not NASA property. They belonged to Hamilton Sunstrand (HS) who provided them to NASA for use in space (for reasons unknown), and were returned to HS, where they were refurbished, and put in storage. We got them back in 2007.

How about the value of a TMG pair?

Good-excellent condition I'd pay 2K each, 3500 for a set.

A few questions:
  1. First, to verify, you are referring to only the thermal micrometeroid garment (TMG) layer of the EMU glove, correct? There are no pressure or restraint layers.

  2. What is the style/color of the palms? Yellow with blue finger tips or gray throughout? (I'm assuming the latter given the series and date, but just verifying.)

  3. I realize you say reasons unknown, but do they show any sign of wear or use? What certifies or documents that they flew?

I would agree with the valuation on a single shuttle TMG glove from Scott. But I always thought a pair of antiques or collectibles were usually worth more than two singles? Why would TMG gloves be any different?

Interesting that the gloves were returned to HS and refurbished. Gloves I have seen that have outlived their usefulness are usually beyond repair.

I'll post one when I get home. They have the grey palm. They are definitely 4000 series. We did the Astronaut Glove Challenge for NASA in 2007 and 2009, and HS gave us a pair of TMG's. We also have a full-up 4000 series, and a lot of other suit components, but they are not for sale. The documentation is non-existent. They gave us the TMG pair, and told us the story of where they came from. So any idea of value? I haven't seen too many on the market.

Sorry, I saw the price... I guess we would keep them for that price.

To clarify, I am referring only to the thermal micrometeroid garment (TMG) layer of the EMU glove. The layers are referred to by NASA/ILC/HS as the bladder, bladder restraint, and TMG. The palms are gray. Also, there is no heater in the 4000 series. The gloves look good. They replaced the gray (teflon?) with new material. I don't know why.
