May 15: In 1963, U.S. astronaut L. Gordon Cooper blasted off aboard Faith 7 on the final mission of the Project Mercury space program.-- Would this type of update -- if added as a regular feature to the homepage -- be of interest to readers? |

I think it would be a great idea Robert. I have some PDF files covering all news releases from 1964-1980 at Manned Spacecraft Center if they will help as source material. They have all announcements of resignations, promotions, awards, contracts, flights etc. Happy Collecting......Adam |

Another vote for the affirmative. Too often, if we have been a little busy, we are not reminded until after the fact. I try to do what I can, but this, for examole, slipped by me. Glad to have been reminded.Mike Quinn |

You know, this "idea" would take just a small amount of time and work on a daily basis. Maybe someone would like to try posting this information for Robert. I know he is pretty busy and has a real job in the real world. You could post this under one of the headings already set up. Maybe under the "news" heading. Try it out for a while and see how much work it would take to do the posting. True, it wouldn't take that much time, but you need to do it EVERYDAY. It's easy to tell Robert HE should do it, but maybe someone should take on the project for him. Just a thought, Leon |

My wife is looking for a "This Day in History" type website that has even the most insignificant events that I can peruse daily. If such a thing can be found, she'll find it. If and when she's successful, I will post a link.Mike |

Hey guys --I wanted to thank you all for your feedback and support. I've debuted a "Today in Space History" (as described in my initial post) on the homepage as of this evening. I culled the events from numerous sources, so if you happen to see an error, please do send me an e-mail. Thanks again! |
