My guess would be to create a small amount of artificial gravity on Gemini 11. |

While it is true that they did create a little artificial gravity. I think the first thing that they did together in a vacuum is: fall asleep! Yes, during what was supposed to be a brief rest period on one of Dick Gordons space walks; both Conrad, and Gordon drifted off to sleep. I don't know for how long, but they both took at least a cat nap in a vacuum at 17,500 miles per hour. That is WITH the hatch open, with the cabin depressurised. I don't know if Gordon was in, or out, or partly in. But, they were both in a vacuum, when they fell asleep.Ed ------------------ " I collect space, in order to fill the space between my ears." ME |
