A correspondent of mine has an old Saturn V model (40" which is probably 1/100 scale) that has some pieces missing (LM ascent stage and CSM escape tower) and needs some repair. The owner just wants the thing stabilized and not returned to pristine condition, but does want the missing parts replaced. This is a project I'm not personally interested in, but am looking for leads on who might tackle this for a reasonable price. The owner understands this won't be cheap. Suggestions? |

Stephen Nichols aka History in Miniature does excellent work! He has built several for me and I am in the process of getting a MSFC 1/100 shuttle to him for restoration. |

I asked for and received a pdf copy of the original blueprints for that model. I also started a Facebook group dedicated to them and posted the 3D CAD model I made using the blueprints. It's a very hard model to accurately replicate. |

Your model is more like 1:96 scale, which is good for you because substitutes for your missing pieces are available. The Revell 1:96 lunar module ascent stage can be modified to take the place of your missing LM and the Launch Escape tower can be adapted from the Revell Saturn V, or purchased new from Shapeways. This will make the model presentable. Please share some photos. |

Would this help? I saw there is an MSFC LEM ascent stage on eBay (193591584914).
