VEB Plasticart in East Germany did one in about the same scale (1/25) as the Revell kit in the mid 1970s and indeed it seems to be based on the Revell kit, but it added some of its own wrinkles, such as some added detailing to the interior of the cockpit. This particular kit is probably the most numerous of the Vostok kits out there and it was also offered by both Nu Bee and Master Modell. It is discontinued now, but can be found with a bit of searching. The prices tend to stay pretty low for it as well.

The final kit was a 1/30 Vostok from Ogonek in the USSR (same scale as their Soyuz kit) and it looks to be a direct scaledown of the VEB Plasticart offering from 1/25 to 1/30 scale.

Looking at your picture, judging by the stand display, the size of the model and the fact that it still has the third stage of the R-7 booster on it, I would lay good money on your kit being the VEB Plasticart offering. It was most often sold in a box that said "Wostok" on it with no company information. The Revell kit does not have the third stage of the R-7 included in it.
