Have any Australian flags been taken to space? If so, have they been on the market?

The flag of Australia was flown as part of the flag kit aboard each of the Apollo missions to the moon. Flags flown on Apollo 11 and Apollo 17 were presented to the country along with moon rock samples.

Two medium and 50 small Australian flags were flown on STS-41G on behalf of first Australian in space Paul Scully-Power. Andy Thomas also flew Australian flags on each of his four missions (e.g. 55 small flags on STS-77).

As for sales, Al Worden sold at least one Australian flag flown on Apollo 15 in 2011 through Heritage Auctions.

One flown on Gemini 4 by Jim McDivitt was sold by him via Novaspace back in 2012 for $750.

An Australian flag flown on Gemini 10 by John Young was sold via RR Auction in May 2012 for $1,016.

Note that the Apollo 15 flag flown by Worden sold for $3,346 back in 2011.

I have an Australian flag flown on (from memory) STS-51I. This launch included the Aussat satellite, Australia's first national satellite.

The presentation is quite superb, and also has the postage stamps of Aussat released at the time. Unfortunately I have only ever seen the one I have, my guess is that it was presented to the Department of Communications, or telecom at the time.
