I have in my collection of Apollo artifacts all six Block 1 Rope memory Modules from a Model 100 AGC. These modules are marked "Flight 202" in yellow. Does anyone know when this would be done?
I also have all 10 PSA trays marked the same way. All of the trays with all of the modules in the trays have the "Flight 202" stamp.

I don't have an answer for your question, but wanted to let you know chapter 7 of "Digital Apollo" by David Mindell goes into some really neat detail about the rope memory construction. Lots of great information on the development of the AGC.
Are your AGC components from the unmanned Apollo 202 flight?

Agreed the Block I AS-202 test flight comes to mind.
I've no idea if the assemblies/modules would have been marked accordingly but Scott Schneeweis and others probably have better data. I own one of the Block I Rope Memory modules without a flight designation but have always assumed it was just a test article.
That would be good stuff to learn yours are flown.

David, thanks for your reply. I actually met Dr. David Mindell while he and his associate Sandy were in the Clear Lake area. I showed them some of my Apollo hardware.
I have asked Scott the question and he didn't know for sure about the flown status.
There has to be NASA protocol for this marking. Hopefully someone will remember why these modules are marked this way.
