As we prepare to move from Hawaii later this month (this will be my 13th Military PCS), have been getting increasingly anxious about the many possible scenerious that can result in damage to the collection. Case technology has really matured of late, I see a lot of it in my capacity as a consumer in conjunction with military applications. Have decided for the collection to go with SKB Cases...attaching images here of packed items but also interested in hearing from others who have found/evaluated alternatives for protecting their material during long distance transport. My critera were milstd specifications that inhibited shock, moisture, pressure, blunt force impact. These seem to work well for smaller stuff.. http://www.SPACEAHOLIC.com/3R3025-15B-CW_multiartifact_labled.jpg http://www.SPACEAHOLIC.com/3R2727-27-B-L_AtlasVernier.jpg http://www.SPACEAHOLIC.com/3R3214-15B-CW-LunarModulePanel.jpg ------------------ Scott Schneeweis

Lol, nice cases Scott, unfortunately it looks like you have more funds to spend on your cases than I have to spend on my artifacts ! I'll have to stick with the bubble wrap and cardboard boxes for now ;-) Adam |

Aloha ScottIt seems you're packed and ready to go. I hate to see you leave the Islands ! You are a great person and teacher and the best expert in the field. Hope I can see your 'museum' on the mainland one day... Hey Scott, if you have a problem moving all you 'space' stuff to the mainland, I can always sqeeuze it in my house. Lol. Say hello to your wife and ... Einstein. Have a safe trip. ------------------ May the Force be with you.... @lways Freddy
