I am pleased to preannounce that Walt Cunningham will be selling Apollo 7 flown [and unflown] memorabilia through his website www.waltercunningham.com. These items will be shipped to you directly from Mr. Cunningham and will come with his personal COA.

Forgot to mention one thing. All FLOWN memorabilia payments will be handled strictly through PayPal, so it will be "first come, first served". So, if you're not already registered at PayPal, now's the time to set up your FREE account. |

At the moment, I'm waiting for photos of the items from Walt [I have the descriptions, but I think you want to see the items, too]. Once I have those, we should be ready to go fairly quickly. I'm hoping that it will be before the end of the month and that I'll be able to give everyone a few days notice before the page(s) start to go live. There will also eventually be some very interesting, unique unflown memorabilia, too.Feel free to contact me if you have any further questions. |

Apollo VII Astronaut, Walter Cunningham, To Offer Flown Memorabilia On His WebsiteOn Monday, April 19, 2004 at 8pm EDT, Apollo VII Lunar Module Pilot, Walter Cunningham, will offer flown and unflown memorabilia of his 1968 flight on his website -- www.waltercunningham.com. There will be a link from his home page to his online "web store." Payments for flown memorabilia will be secure and handled through PayPal. All flown memorabilia will come directly from Mr. Cunningham and will be accompanied by his personal Certificate of Authenticity [COA] stating that these items flew with him on Apollo VII and are from "his personal collection." Pricing and shipping charges for domestic and international buyers will be clearly marked. There will NOT be a "buyer's premium" of 15-18% as is the norm when you buy through auction houses. All memorabilia will come directly from Mr. Cunningham. Mr. Cunningham encourages all space collectors to drop by his web site for a look. As items sell out, he hopes to replace them with similar flown artifacts from his mission. Mr. Cunningham will also offer signed and inscribed copies of his book "The All-American Boys" as well as signed photographs, canceled checks, and crew signed postal covers from his and other Apollo missions. To answer some questions that I've been receiving about Walt Cunningham's web store opening on Monday night 4/19/04 at 8pm EDT: - There will be flown and unflown articles
- Some items are one-of-a-kind, other items may have limited multiples
- This is NOT an auction, it's an outright sale. Prices are listed. First come, first served. No buyer's premium added.
- Payment for flown and the higher priced unflown items will be handled strictly through PayPal. Credit cards will be accepted through PayPal.
- Advice: Don't dawdle on the flown items. They are VERY finite.
- The COAs from Cunningham will state that they are from "my personal collection"
- You will be dealing directly with Walt Cunningham, not me.
- Additional items will be added at a later date. Advance notification will be given. However, I'd suggest checking in often. You never know when something might be "slipped in."
- The web site is www.waltercunningham.com
- The link to the store will be prominent in the middle of his home page. It will be the ONLY link to the store.

I am excited that this is going to start! I hope to pick up some items. However, i think this bodes very well for the collector community. We won't have to rely on the auctions and this will finally let us understand the extent of some of the astronauts collection. Furthermore, I believe other astronauts will soon follow suit if this site is successful! |

I am excited too! Lets see... son's baseball game or store opening? Decisions, decisions...Too bad I will miss the store opening. I hope this group saves me something to buy! |

I was looking at the "flown" heat shield plug in lucite and found something a little strange. On the inscription it shows the dates of the Apollo 7 mission as October 14 through Oct. 24, 1968The actual dates are 10/11 through 10/22/68. |

Spoke with the Cunningham's about this this morning. Apparently, after all of these years, they had never noticed the date discrepency. Someone at Downey made the error back in 1968 and it was never noticed. Looks like something is now quite unique. |
