Just curious if anyone on CS was the winning bidder on item #975, Aurora Auction.
This item is an Adz stone from the Ice Age Adz quarry here on Mauna Kea, Hawaii(my backyard). It was carried on board STS-52 by Lacy Veach. The stone also came with a nice NASA photo of the stone floating in front of the Space Shuttle window, with the Big Island in the background. Can anyone tell me what NASA photo number this is and or where I can get a scan of it?
This piece has got to be the most expensive Shuttle flown item I have seen, and quickly rose out of my bidding abilities.
Any info would be appreciated and if you would like, please contact me offline.
Aloha all,

Dave,

Sorry to hear you missed out on this one. If ever there was a perfect match for you it was this item. What a great piece, it did get pricey... but how many of these babies flew?

I'm holding out for one just like that flew on a Mercury flight.

Congratulations to the buyer. You did well.

Thanks Noah, I would really like to see that piece on display at the Onizuka Space Center here on the Big Island...I just didn't have the means ($) to make it happen.
Aloha
