Indeed. Many of the internal furnishings and finishings in some of the new spacecraft have a formless melted plastic look that don't seem to have the character and recognition of earlier spacecraft. You can tell the PTK's designers are trying to hang on to a sense of continuity more so than their Western counterparts in this area.

Regarding the displays and controls, I'd feel safer in one if there were a few dozen hard wired toggle switches as overrides.

Anyone know the base diameter? Any other dimensions?

I haven't seen dimensions released for Federatsiya, but as it is intended to launch on the Soyuz 5 (Sunkar) booster, it may be limited to a 13 foot (4.1 meter) diameter.
