LEGO Ideas: Two SpaceX-inspired sets and a second try at the space station have made it into the second LEGO Ideas Review of the year. Kevin Hehmeyer's Falcon Heavy rocket and the SpaceX "Ultimate Collection" posted by Matthew Nolan and Valerie Roche, along with Christoph Ruge's revised International Space Station will be reviewed by LEGO designers for possible production and sale.

Apollo at 50: The Smithsonian's National Air and Space Museum has announced plans to help lead the national celebration of the 50th anniversary of the first moon landing. In July 2019, the museum will host a five-day public commemoration of the Apollo 11 mission, including placing Neil Armstrong's spacesuit on display for the first time in 13 years. The Smithsonian has also scheduled events leading up to the anniversary, to recognize the Apollo missions that made it possible for astronauts to walk on the moon.

End of era: After three decades of launches, the Delta II rocket has reached its final flight. Set to loft NASA's ICESat-2 satellite, the last mission for the Delta II will not only conclude the rocket's 30 years of service to NASA, the U.S. military and commercial customers, but also mark the end of the first pioneering era of U.S. rocketry. If this launch goes to plan, it will be the 100th consecutive success out of the Delta II's 155 total missions over the past 30 years.

Delta II display: Just under an hour after the final liftoff of a Delta II rocket, United Launch Alliance (ULA) revealed what would become of its last surviving example. The Delta II will "live among the giants" as part of the Rocket Garden at NASA's Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex in Florida so that the public can share in its heritage.

To the moon, with artists! SpaceX will fly a Japanese billionaire and six to eight artists of his choosing on a trip to the moon in 2023. A fashion retailer and avid art collector, Yusaku Maezawa intends for the trip to result in new masterpieces that will "inspire the dreamer within all of us." The private moon mission will both help fund and launch on SpaceX's BFR ("Big Falcon Rocket") under development.

Personal space: A new exhibit featuring the mementos carried by 11 astronauts into orbit is now open at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum in New York City. "Personal Space" showcases Scott Altman's pocket watch, the St. Christopher medal worn by Mike Good and the Snoopy doll flown by Mike Massimino, among an eclectic collection of objects representing the personal side of spaceflight.
