The American Space Museum with Bid Again Auctions has posted our newest auction to be held live Aug. 29, 2026 at 12:00 Noon EDT.Featuring rare Apollo 1/AS-204 accident investigation detailed capsule interior photographs. A collection of 18 in one lot. A very nice red-numbered Apollo 1 crew signed photograph along with some great SpaceX and Apollo-flown items. 388 lots of great memorabilia. |

Lot 61 features the only known photo of Neil Armstrong on the lunar surface.One of the rarest photographs of the Apollo program showing Neil Armstrong standing next to the Lunar Module Eagle. There is masking tape around the edge of the photo but it could be easily matted or possibly restored. Take a look. |

Chuck, it is a desirable Hasselblad photo, but it is not the only one of Neil Armstrong on the surface. It is the only full body shot of the first moonwalker on the lunar surface. There is also this Hasselblad shot, where you can see Armstrong's name tag on his PLSS backpack as he moves past the camera:  |

I am very happy and excited to announce that Bid Again Auctions & the American Space Museum will be selling Neil Armstrong's Apollo 11 In Flight Coveralls used in training for that mission. These will be offered in our October sale.To the best of my knowledge this is the only set ever offered to private collectors. |

Can anyone explain what happened here?I placed a bid on Lot 262 of $1500 and became the high bidder at $500. When I checked the auction the next day I was high bidder at $1500. I wanted to add to my high bid status and increased by bid to $1600 with the knowledge I would still be high bidder at $1500. On every auction site I have ever bid on my high bid of $1500 would still be the bid of record. In the case of this ASM auction, my increase of $100 to $1600 immediately became the high bid at $1600. I have never known an auction to allow someone to bid against themselves. Is this legal in Florida? |

CJ, this is more common that you think you think and I am happy to post the bid report if you want me to. Although you had the high bid of $1,500 there was also another bid of $1,500 the only reason you were listed as the high bidder is you placed the $1,500 bid first and first bid takes the tie. As soon as you placed a $1,600 bid you broke the tie and the system automatically places that bid just like if you high bid had been $2,000 when the competing $1,500 bid is place your bid would go to $1,600. Please keep in mind that the system through Invaluable is all computer controlled I have no influence on the bidding and I can not see anyone's pre-bid. I hope this explains the system. |

It could be worse. I lost an auction because a nonstandard increment emailed bid with no chance of winning was entered, so Invaluable ignored my high bid because it failed to meet the next standard increment. |
