Sotheby's Space Exploration sale is now listed online.The auction is scheduled for July 1-15, 2026 in New York, with bidding listed as opening at 2:00 p.m. GMT. The sale number is N12212. At the time of posting, no lots appear to have been uploaded yet, but the exhibition schedule is already posted for New York, beginning July 1 and continuing on selected dates through July 13. |

Interesting to see all the watches from Aldrin for sale. The X-33 is particularly interesting. I’m curious what may have been on the case back that appears to have been polished off. |

Looking through these listings is like window shopping for me. The prices are way out of step with my budget!Interesting to see the Apollo 11 circuit breaker and pen listed. Looks like Buzz has consigned a lot of items to this auction. |

I was looking at all of Buzz's watches. I bought one of his Bulova Accutron Eagle Pilot watches years ago. Nice to see someone paid $4K for one. It is a Rattrapante chronograph which pretty interesting for such an inexpensive timepiece with a dual timing function. And I am liking the X-33 price too. |

One Space Exploration sale, typically every July. They sometimes offer space items in other sales if they fit the theme (e.g. watches). |

collectSPACE Apollo 11's broken switch and mission-saving pen sell for $867K at auctionA dried out felt-tip marker and a snapped off piece of molded black plastic sold for $857,600 at a Sotheby's auction on Wednesday (July 15). What otherwise might be worthless bits of trash commanded the highest bids of the sale due to where the two items were one day and 57 years ago — lifting off aboard NASA's Apollo 11 spacecraft on humanity's first mission to land astronauts on the moon. More than flown odds and ends, one was the problem that almost stranded Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin on the lunar surface and the other was the simple solution to saving the mission.
