The National Space Centre in Leicester, England (UK) is crowdfunding the publication of a new cook book based on the favorite cakes of its past year livestream space guests. From the Kickstarter campaign:
One of the highlights of that year were the LIVE Space sessions, that gave the online community the opportunity to speak with scientists, astronauts, authors, science communicators and even comedians.

The National Space Centre cannot thank each of these guests enough for their support, taking time out of busy schedules to answer questions and help the National Space Centre achieve its mission to inspire.

The year of closure ended as the Centre celebrated its 20th birthday and to mark the occasion this cookery book (with a recipe from or inspired by each of our LIVE Space guests) has been created.

We may not be able to meet in person, but we can all mix, bake and be happy.

The profits from every book purchased will go to support the National Space Centre in recovery, help curate the collection of artefacts and fund our Community Engagement Programme.

The Book

Each of our LIVE Space guests have been asked to tell us their favourite cake recipe and we have added them to the cookery book. Some are original family recipes; some are keen favourites and others have been chosen by us for them.

We have recipes for supervised children to make, vegan cakes, cupcakes, traybakes, celebration cakes and cakes for every day of the week.

Each recipe has been made, tested (in the name of science) and photographed to be included in the book, with simple step-by-step instructions, as well as top tips to make it easier for you to create amazing cakes.

We have also included space science based "Fun Facts" for each recipe, so you can learn something new every time you make a cake (some don't even need baking!)
