The original Gemini Familiarization Manual restored and reprinted in various editions, a Kickstarter campaign from Constance Metzinger. Next year marks the 60th anniversary of when NASA launched Project Gemini and, to honor this event, I hope to republish the Gemini Familiarization Manual. This manual contained the details of the entire project including an overview of the missions, the assembly of the Gemini space vehicle, the communication system and even the guidance and control systems. Last year, over 1,000 backers helped to fund a newly restored facsimile edition of the original Apollo 11 flight plan. These flight plans were sent around the world to over 52 different countries... and many of those backers asked to have the Gemini manual and the Saturn V flight manual also restored. Both of these restoration projects have been accomplished and now - with your support - they will be reprinted in various editions. - Paperback edition:
Since the manual is so large, I divided it into two separate books plus a third book which features the "confidential" Section 8 all about the Guidance System. - Leather-bound edition:
This is a lasting collector's version of the manual, leather-bound in navy blue with foil lettering on the cover. It will also feature fold-out pages like the original manual. Pretty cool. This is a limited edition of 125 books with only 105 books being offered to the public exclusively through Kickstarter (the remaining 15 copies will be donated to various libraries and will also be used as replacement copies in the event that any disappear en route). - Saturn V Flight Manual paperback edition:
What has this to do with the Gemini project? Very little. But it is one of the books that many of the backers from the Apollo 11 flight plan project requested to have restored and so I am offering it here as a reward option.

I received my copy of Books 1-3 of the Gemini Familiarization Manual (Rendezvous and Docking Configurations) today. I am quite pleased with the work Constance Metzinger put into cleaning up the illustrations and making the text more crisp than what you get in the current online versions. It was nice to finally see the "mysterious" Guidance and Control System section too. These volumes are definitely must-haves for any student of the crucial Gemini Program (such as myself). Well done Constance ... and the shipping box was cool too! |

Mine's (hopefully) on it's way, but nice to hear your positive report. That said, the "mysterious" section 8 has been available online for years, I already have it. |

Thanks for that update David. I stopped looking for Section 8 in 2010. Of course I have the pdf of Metzinger's cleaned up version now, along with the hard copy.I noticed that some of the pages throughout all three books printed slightly darker than others. All the pages are easily readable, but it seems the printing quality varied a bit. This is just an observation, not a criticism of the product. |

My facsimile edition and paperback section 8 finally arrived today. Well worth the wait. Another great job by Constance. She can be a bit on the quiet side, but she does get the job done. |

I received the pdf version a while back and also purchased the Saturn V publication in hard copy, but still have yet to receive it. I posted on the Kickstarter page, but no response as of yet as it's been over a week. Is there a way to directly contact them? |

Not so far as I can tell. That's part of what I was alluding to with "quiet". It's "disquieting", ha. All I suggest is patience. Seems to work out in the end. |

David, thanks for the advice. The additional reason for the inquiry was that when I confirmed my address it was at my old address and that since then moved. Hoping that it doesn't go to the old address. |

Ah, that’s different. Can only suggest repeating what you’ve already done. Good luck. |
