I'm reading my almost 50-year old copy of "First on the Moon" with an in-depth account of the three astronauts by Life Magazine authors. I first read it as a kid when it came out in 1970 but don't see much discussed about it in collectSPACE book reviews.
I'd put this book up against any narrative of the Apollo 11 mission as one of the most enjoyable classic space books. Excellent reading! I'm surprised it hasn't been re-released this year.

The book is an excellent compendium of snippets of information that you will struggle (sometimes in vain) to find elsewhere.

I heard a rumour that after they landed on the Moon Buzz said this to Neil:
"Hey Neil, do you mind if I pop outside quickly as I need to stretch my legs."
