ESA astronaut Andreas Mogensen (Soyuz TMA-18M) on Facebook (translated from Danish):
I just received the first copy of the book "My Journey to Space," published 31 August. It has been really nice. Big thanks to Henrik and Thomas.

Min Rejse til Rummet (My Journey to Space)
by Andreas Mogensen, Henrik Bendix, Thomas Djursing

Andreas Mogensen made Danish history when on Sept. 2, 2015 he became the first Dane to fly in space. In "My Journey to Space," Andreas tells about his challenge to become an astronaut, how the dream began as a child and how he, as a young adult, focused his education and jobs towards one goal: becoming an astronaut.

We learn about the demanding tests, as Andreas Mogensen and five others were among 10,000 applicants from the European Space Agency. And he talks about the extreme astronaut training, among other things, going deep down into dark caves in Italy, on the ocean floor in the U.S., to high altitudes and in endless space simulations in Star City in Russia.

Andreas Mogensen also recounts details about his space mission, on the action-packed rocket departure from the Earth to orbit in a space capsule at 28,000 kilometers per hour, the docking to the International Space Station and the thrilling trip back to Earth. And he talks about life on the space station: the important research and the many attempts and the comical and challenging experiences of being weightless; soaring through the modules, eating, brushing teeth, sleeping — yes, even using the toilet — which can be tricky when nothing is "up" or "down."

In this book, Andreas Mogensen takes the reader on a fascinating journey and looks forward to new missions. An inspiring tale of achieving one's goals and having the whole world — indeed, the universe — as his workplace.
