Perhaps it hasn't been updated yet, but DK is still listing the release date as Sept. 29 of this year, and is taking orders accordingly. |

And as the DK page indicates "publishing with Virgin Galactic's inaugural launch." So my guess they're waiting for that launch to occur... and succeed (which would make sense from the publisher's point of view). |

The recent Private Eye article "Beam us up, Beardie" certainly puts the Virgin Galactic plans in perspective. |

So I suppose the book was all ready and they were just holding to release before the first flight. Now they must have doubts whether there will be one. You know though, I hate when book publishers hold off publishing a book, making you think they are waiting for last minute details to add to the book before it comes out. In reality the book is finished and nothing is added. |

This of course comes handy now that the only SS2 is no longer available. |

Checking Amazon again tonight, it is now only available for pre-order again. Seems the books that shipped were done so in error. |

I received my copy today. It is a nice book, a lot of great photos on both SpaceShipOne and Two. Both pilots from the accident are in it as well. |

Are those copies destined to be a future collector's item if DK changes/reprints the book? As it stands, does the content make it unpublishable?

Although it does appear some advanced copies have 'leaked' into the system, my point is - should we be trying to get our hands on them as a future collector's item?In the aftermath of the accident, DK might have to reprint the book. Can anyone who got a copy tell us if they think the book is now unpublishable as planned in 2015? |

I wouldn't say unpublishable as it is, but events have really made it out of date. A new edition would have to mention the accident, and there is no VSS Enterprise anymore that is featured in the book. Collectible or not, it is great to look at and worth getting for that alone. |
