Does anyone know if artist Mark Waki has ever released any of his space paintings in limited edition? I heard a rumor he had but have never seen any for sale anywhere. His work is fantastic. I tried reaching him via his website email but received no answer. I know he does limited edition aviation prints and recently pickup a copy of his F-4 Phantom painting "Advantage Cunningham" on a secondary market. But repeated searches for his space paintings have lead me know where and makes me wonder if any of them were ever released in limited edition. If not it is to bad because his work is excellent. |

Per Waki's website: Many of the ATK paintings are available as high quality lithographs through ATK Launch Systems, MS PUBS, PO Box 707, Brigham City, Utah 84302. While not normally available to the general public, the prints are available to military units, aerospace organizations and industry representatives. |

I talked with Mark Waki via e-mail and he told me that he would soon have some in limited edition prints and he would notify me when this happens. I will let you know when I hear back from him. |

That is good news. I wrote ATK as a long shot to see if they are willing to sell a couple of his prints to anyone not in the aerospace community as Robert pointed out from his web site. But I prefer to buy direct from the artist so I look forward to seeing what comes available. I have a couple of his aviation prints. He is an amazing talent. |

Which prints do you own? I would really love to buy Thunderbird Lead but the two that I saw for sale were over $400 which is too much for my budget. I do have his prints "T-plus 30", "Seperation" and "Ridgerunner". I am too sending a request via ATK and since I am in the Army maybe they will send me some. Some of his prints were on the walls of the TV show "NCIS" until the end of Season 9 when the offices were blown up. When the offices were redone the prints were gone. |

I have two aviation prints. There are about a dozen of his prints I would like if I could get them.I own a copy of his Korean War F-86 painting "Beautious Butch" signed by four Korean was aces. And I have a copy of "Advantage Cunningham," a Vietnam war F-4 scene signed by Randy Cunningham. I recently contacted Commander William Driscoll the RIO on that flight who recently co-signed the print. |

I managed to get "T-Plus 30" from ATK's Kennedy Space Center office after I asked about it when I was down for STS-131 (they sent it to me a couple weeks later). Plus, when I was down for STS-121, they had a couple VERY nice posters of Ares 1 and Ares V. One day all these will be framed and sitting on my wall.In my case, I wanted "T-plus 30" for a couple reasons. One was because it was an excellent piece of art. But secondly, because a framed print was very visible on the office set of NCIS for almost a decade and you tended to see it in the background quite often. I would LOVE to chat with Mark Waki because in addition to being an excellent 2D artist, he is also an award winning model builder. He's done stuff for himself AND he's also produced some excellent 3D displays of ATK's rocket projects. I want to pick his brain on some of the techniques he uses as I've used some of his projects as inspiration for mine. |

I found three of Mark Waki's space prints. - Taurus Lift Off
- Rissing Star
- Special Delivery
I think they may have come from some aerospace office as we got a picture of the stealth and another one too (don't remember what). |

You do find his work from time to time on eBay. I was lucky enough to find a copy of "T Plus 30" for a very good price. I have several of his aviation prints. The last one I picked up was "Advantage Cunningham," his F-4 Phantom painting signed by Randy Cunningham. Willie Driscoll, the RIO, was kind enough to sign it for me as well. |
