Long Time El Lago Resident Publishes Novel

JoAnn Carr moved to El Lago with her family of six children in 1966 when her former husband was selected to be in the 5th group of Apollo astronauts. As she recalls, in the old days people would inevitably ask "What's it like being married to an astronaut?" Some still do it today.

Over the course of several years, while she practiced law in the area and in California, she wrote a fictionalized version of what it was like. She has recently published the novel, Keeper of the Flame. She has received rave reviews from fellow astronaut wives who have proclaimed "It's the Real Stuff — characters brought vibrantly to life —  dialogue crisp and smart — fun to read".
