On Pink Floyd's new The Dark Side Of The Moon: Immersion Box Set , a very rare early mix of the "Dark Side of the Moon" album from December 1972 has been released and interestingly incorporated Gene Cernan's final speech as he left the moon's surface for the last time. This was obviously very topical in December 1972, but as we know, the speech did not make the final mix and release. |

Sounds interesting though not sure I can quite bring myself to stump up the £90 for the box set.On a similar subject, there was a repeated documentary about Pink Floyd on BBC4 last week which had some footage of Pink Floyd playing along with video clips from the Moon Landings. |

Do you have a specific track name for Cernan's speech? It seems these are available separately on iTunes. Thank you. |

This makes me want to get the set even more. I love Floyd. Last year I saw Waters do the entire Wall in Philly. |

From what I can remember through the haze surrounding my college life in the 70's, "Dark Side of the Moon"'s double album cover was also a very practical and useful device for ... uh ... sorting and cleaning ... uh ... vegetable matter. A boxed CD set would provide a very pale reflection of the experience with that album. |

It was also great music to listen to after "cleaning up the vegetable matter". In fact I still have my copy of the album (vegetable matter all gone). |

I have seen the Immersion set and can't wait to get mine this weekend! It has some wonderful "extras" items in it! Pink Floyd is absolutely my favorite! For those of you who are in the Cincinnati area, check out my friend's band Signs of Life, which is a Pink Floyd tribute band! They are the best around, very true to the music of Pink Floyd. |

If you go to the Amazon listing for this item there is an MP3 download version of this. I downloaded the track "Great Gig in the Sky" (thanks to Paul for the name) but it does not contain the Cernan speech. The MP3 version is not the same as the Immersion set.And iTunes is selling something called Dark Side of the Moon (Deluxe Experience Version) (Remastered). This also does not contain the Gene Cernan speech referenced above. |

A group that follows the major space events of the 60's and 70's and you're surprised at the number of Hippies?I was in the Navy for the whole Hippie era, so I can't relate. I was on the business side of the end they put flowers in. |

I'd always figured that would be more representative of the people on here, people with haircuts you could set your watch to! |

Gary - this probably means then that the only way of obtaining the early December 1972 mix of Dark side of the Moon which contains the Cernan speech is to buy the quite expensive six CD "Immersion" box set version of the album. |
