What is the availability of NASA Spaceflight Awareness (SFA) posters?

As its purpose is to serve employees, NASA's Spaceflight Awareness Program exists to serve the space agency's workforce, not the public.

As such, the posters it produces, along with the films, pins, buttons, banners and decals are only made available to employees.

In some limited cases, excess posters and other motivational items are given out at NASA events where the public may also be in attendance. In some cases, NASA's public affairs offices may have limited supplies, but this has become increasingly unlikely as the Spaceflight Awareness Program has faced budgetary cutbacks.

SFA does provide high resolution files for their posters so the public can print their own copies.

There is a whole folder of vintage 60s SFA posters at the National Archives. I'm going to be there within the next two weeks. Shall I scan them?

Excellent link Robert! Now we just need to find a good printer who will affordably print these on good poster paper.

The site was integrated into the main NASA.gov. It can now be found here.

(Earlier links on this thread now updated accordingly.)

Yeah, it seems that 'old' files are removed from websites all too quickly. However, all is not lost if you know the old url where the files were.

For the SFA shuttle mission posters, go to the Internet Archive. Near the top center of the page is a box labeled "WayBackMachine", type or paste the url (sfa.nasa.gov/products.cfm) there, and click the "Take Me Back" button.

After that, it should be rather intuitive. Hope that helps!
