I have posted a few stereo views using frames from Apollo 11's on board 16mm film footage.I made them in the traditional stereo card format and they can be "free viewed". If you have trouble using that method, there are several kinds of viewers available. I was going to post the anaglyph versions but they look terrible. I used the Apogee books CD to grab the stills. Does anyone know if there are any cleaner copies of the footage available? I would redo them if I could find cleaner images to work with. |

Neat! Free viewing is hit or miss for me, but the LM view looks great. Fantastic job. |

Thanks, I'm posting a couple of Gemini shots too. These look pretty pixelated.I'm going to redo some with the Spacecraft Films -- I believe they are of better quality than Apogee's... |

I just posted a new stereoview of Ed White's GT-4 EVA. I made an anaglyph in addition to the stereo pair.As always, I strongly urge viewing the side-by-side, but I realize that method just doesn't work for some folks. |

I'm glad you like them, FFrench. I enjoy making them, and am happy to share them. They haven't received too many views on Flickr, so I'm guessing that "space nuts" who like 3-D pictures are a rare breed! |

Okay, for the 15 or so people who care to know, I've posted a couple more views. The Gordon Cooper view was done a few years back. For the Apollo 11 landing site, I'm still working on a view with the flag... |

I have always been mesmerized by 3D pictures, and these are no exception: keep them coming! |

I do have more and will post them. I'll put an anaglyph of Earthrise on tomorrow. Folks seem to like the Red & Blue images. Personally, I think a lot of the impact is lost due to the lack of color. |

Just an FYI to the six of you who are viewing these stereo images.I just posted the anaglyph of "Earthrise". I also posted a stereo pair and anaglyph from the LM Pilot's window showing the flag. That one was tougher; Buzz shot the same sweep twice at different f stops. So, one image is from the first pass and the other one is from the second pass. It's a bit soft, but there is some dimension. It's better viewed small. |

Just another "head's up". I just posted a new anaglyph/stereo pair of the Apollo 11 flag. The photos were downloaded from the "Apollo Lunar Surface Journal" website, of course. |

Wow, these are great! I normally have trouble with side-by-side pictures, but these popped right into focus immediately. Very cool, thanks for posting! |

Great fun, love the Apollo 12 shots! Especially cool is the one with the close up of the Surveyor camera and solar panel, with Surveyor crater sloping away in the background. Now, if you would just be so kind as to put them in a Viewmaster reel for me... |

Great stuff! Has Al Bean seen your Apollo 12 shots? If you are taking requests - I'd love to see something from Al Worden's Apollo 15 EVA, for which footage was shot but no good photos. It would be great to see a moment in 3-D... |

There is only one frame on the 16mm of Worden's EVA. The camera jammed just as it did on the surface. |

There is also video - see this, for example, so multiple angles exist, even if the quality is not great... |

I have no idea if Alan Bean has seen the images, but I would be thrilled if he has. As far as Al Worden's EVA, I took a quick look at the video and I think there's some thing there to work with. Sometimes you can get lucky when the camera shifts. I'll give it a shot. I just posted a new Apollo 12 anaglyph. It features the large antenna. I'm posting two versions where the parallax is slightly shifted to show more detail. It helps to view them at "Flickr's large size, not original size. |

Thanks so much! There is a link at 242:08:44 on this page which might help with footage too. |

These images are absolutely amazing! Just when you thought there wasn't any more to squeeze out of these historic images, a talented artist puts us all in a time transporter machine and suddenly we're on the moon in 1969! Thank you for the experience. |
