For those that like the signed, hand-tooled leather bound books, Easton Press still has some of Gordon Cooper's Leap of Faith. I just got mine and it is fantastic. Price is $89.50 with S&H and is item #977. If you do order, I recommend spending the extra $5 for the 3 Day UPS shipping -- otherwise it can take between 4-6 weeks to get your book.

Their number is 1-800-243-5160.

I got an offer in the mail a couple of days ago from Easton Press. The book is "Apollo, The Epic Journey to the Moon".

272 pages, leather bound collector edition, "visually stunning... a major contribution to the literature of Apollo"

It looks NICE! Three payment of $39 and it's yours!

It is indeed a nice book, but is not only available from Easton. A much lower-priced version is still available from amazon.com for $23.

David West Reynolds and Wally Schirra (who wrote the foreword) did a book signing for it a couple of years ago in San Diego.

It is a pretty book with excellent graphics. But you really have to be wary of the text. There are some dubious and outright false claims in the book. I reviewed it on the Amazon website a couple of years ago.

Keep in mind that the author was previously noted for doing guides to Star Wars vehicles. He's not really a historian. He primarily writes for kids.

I have this book, Wally Schirra sign this for me he said that this was one of the best books out there. These are very limited and Easton may not have anymore left, I had to wait to get my copy. Easton also has another great book called "Flight" for sale in their latest catalog.

Does anybody recall what that six-volume astronaut set from Easton Press cost when it was released? Also, does anybody know which year it came out in?

The six-volume Easton Press Astronauts Library sold during 1997-1998, and was limited to 3000 numbered sets. Price was $495 for the complete set, including shipping.

Also, according to Easton Press, an additional author's edition of 25 unnumbered volumes were produced for each author's personal use.

I've seen in the past that people were looking for copies of "Apollo, The Epic Journey to the Moon" only to be told that the book was sold out.

Easton Press will again be offering the book for sale. I spoke to Robin at Easton and they are taking orders now. Item #1103.

Three payments of $39.00. 1-800-211-1308.

Why is this book so expensive? Three payments of $39? Over $100! Its a great book but I'm amazed it now costs that much, mine cost $55 and is a 2002 first edition! Amazing its doubled in price?

The Easton Press edition is a limited edition and is much nicer. It is bound in full leather with gold lettering, gold-leaf page edges, and silk endpapers. It is worth every penny. (to me)

Do any of our list members have the original advertising from the Easton Press Astronaut set?

If you do could someone confirm that the advertising mentions a number of unsigned copies being given to the astronauts who signed the sets.

Easton Press has just released "NASA Complete Illustrated History" by Michael Gorn. This is signed by Buzz Aldrin. You have to call Easton Press directly but the price is around $138.00 and it took two tries until I found someone who could find the book in the inventory. I have seen a few show up on eBay recently for over $200. This is one great book and as with all the Easton space books the value is sure to go up.

Easton Press has the signed Eugene Cernan book available again - although this book is not as valuable as the first edition they released, it is still a nice book at $99.

They also have the Aldrin and Lovell books still for sale.

The latest Easton Press catalog has a signed, deluxe leather-bound edition of Gene Kranz's "Failure is Not an Option" for $99.

Has anyone ever found that their signed Easton Press book was not signed? I have, as of 10 minutes ago.

I removed a signed copy of Michael Crichton's Andromeda Strain out of the box and put it on the shelf. Then I reversed course, I pulled it back off the shelf and I took a quick look inside to check the signature, and there was no signature. It had the little signed COA inserted just fine, but it wasn't signed on the book anywhere.

I called the customer support center and they are taking care of it okay.

I am not the kind of person that takes all of their Easton Press books out of the box and the plastic wrap. But now I wonder...

Doug, I have all the space related Easton Press titles and many signed SF editions. All of them have the signature as advertised. That's strange that you received one unsigned... had to be a lapse in quality control.

I have received a couple of the books that they forgot to print the serial no.

I always take the book out of the wraps because I have had a few of the books damaged and had to send them back. (one had a large ink blot on the title page). Plus, some have suggested in book discussions that the plastic the books are in can actually harm the book over time because it doesn't allow the book to breathe.

I was cruising the Easton Press website, and was thrilled to stumble upon the listing of the EP edition of All American Boys - and I ordered one right away. It will be great to add this edition to my other astronaut EP books. Check it out!

Just received my leather-bound All American Boys today from Easton Press and I have to say I am really impressed. Walt's sig is not only crisp and clean, but he also adds the bonus "Apollo 7" inscription. I am glad to see EP added this title to their astronaut editions.

For those who have a collection of the Easton Press astronaut signed leather editions, they have two new ones on their website: Edgar Mitchell's "Way of the Explorer" and Mike Mullane's "Riding Rockets". Well worth it to add to their growing list of astronaut signed editions. Just ordered mine.

Just received a brochure from Easton Press, they are already releasing the new Buzz Aldrin book "Magnificent Desolation" book, personally signed by Buzz Aldrin in a leather-bound Collector's Edition.

Made my order today.

Does anyone know if Easton has plans for new astronaut-authored signed editions – including, perhaps, Al Worden's new book?

My experience so far has been that interesting things have happened when potential customers make requests... it certainly would be great if people here would like to see this happen, for them to email Easton Press and make the suggestion - thanks. If they see a potential customer base out there, it could happen.
