As Artemis II grows closer to returning astronauts to the vicinity of the moon, I am curious if anyone is planning or maybe already has added Artemis crew members' autographs to items signed by Apollo astronauts?

For example, is anyone planning or has anyone already collected the four autographs of the Artemis II crew on an piece already signed by the three Apollo 8 astronauts?

Given the rarity and how valuable an Apollo 8 crew-signed piece can be, I can understand why some (many, all?) would be reluctant to add anything to it and maybe just frame or otherwise display two separate signed pieces side by side, but I also recall seeing items that were signed by the Wright Brothers and Yuri Gagarin, if not also Alan Shepard and Neil Armstrong, which made for a very unique signed piece.

The Artemis III crew has yet to be announced, so asking the same about Apollo 11 crew-signed pieces may be premature, but has anyone given any thought to it?

And with regards to either Artemis II/Apollo 8 and Artemis III/Apollo 11, there is an additional consideration as to when to add the autographs. Missions can be canceled, crew members can be swapped out, but then there is also no guarantee that astronauts will be willing or available to sign autographs after they return from the moon.

Obviously, there is no wrong answers here. I am just curious what collectors are thinking about when it might come down this choice.

Adding first Mars and/or other celestial bodies explorers would be even more appropriate...

Indeed and the decision might be easier as a result.

Still, we don't know when that might occur and we're marching forward to a launch back to the moon perhaps as soon as February 2026...
