I am wondering if anyone is familar with a poster I recently saw. The poster is entitled Apollo and the artist appears to be the same as the artist for the Naval Aviation poster. The poster shows two astronauts on the Moon, with a Saturn V launching in the background. The poster appeared to contain the signatures of Gene Cernan, Alan Shepard and Wally Schirra. Does anyone know the history behind the poster, the size of its run and whether the signatures are authentic or preprinted? |

Apollo: Navy To The Moonby R.L. Rasmussen edition size 250 Signed by Shepard, Cernan, Lovell... and, oh yeah, Neil himself. I think it came out around 1995. They seem to go for a lot more than Naval Aviation In Space, because, I would assume their limited release. I would venture to guess they go for about 50% more than Naval Aviation in Space. I saw one in person once. It looks real good. ------------------ Warm Regards Douglas Henry Enjoy yourself and have fun.... it is only a hobby! |

AztecDoug is correct in the information that he provided . "Apollo: Navy To The Moon" had a very small number released....only 250 and it is a real beauty. I noticed that the original post did not mention Neil Armstrongs autograph and I therefore give this caveat. One of these prints keeps appearing on Ebay without the Neil autograph as it is missing !! My copy of this print has Lovell, Shepard, Cernan and Armstrong on it ....mine is #145 of 250. The one I have seen on Ebay from time to time has no Armstrong signature on it but does have Schirra instead. I cannot explain how this occurred but just be aware of this !!It is a great print...Donald Brady [This message has been edited by apollo11lem5@aol.com (edited January 08, 2002).] |

The Schira-Shepard-Cernan combination appeared on e-Bay and is what prompted the question. Curious if this is a secondary run, something done as a fundraiser for someone else, or perhaps, a fraud. The image does not provide a close-up of the signatures. |

On this subject, Novaspace has just put one on their website (the full Armstrong signed version). You may need to break open a piggy bank or two though. Cheers, Matt | |
