Hi Group, Just wanted to ask a question about sending stuff overseas. What is the exact proceedure about mailing items (Two Photos cardboard backing and a pen) to lets say France and Mexico(not overseas). Would you recommend two IRC's or just cash or both. Thanks guys, Cosmo |

Bear in mind that an IRC only buys the surface rate postage for the equivilant of a standard letter (roughly 1/2 ounce). Seems rediculous considering what our post office charges for an IRC, but that's the way it is.SO you have to weigh up you return envelope with the contents you expect to be coming back, which I'll bet comes to 3-4 oz; then divide by two to get the number of IRCs you'd need. Gets pretty expensive, and why bother? Enclose a few dollars in cash..Uncle Sam's money is still accepted anywhere in the world, and most people are glad to get it. The postage your three dollars will buy would probably cost you seven or eight dollars in IRCs. Very likely your Mexican and French astronauts have some kind of franking system with their government or employer, so your dollars will wind up in someone's pocket and increase your chances of success. Make sure you put customs declarations on both envelopes and mark them "Personal Photographs", that way there should be no hassle with customs. Lots of luck. Doc
