I just ran across an advertisement from Florida Space Coast regarding a tour they conduct. I've contacted with them via Facebook with questions and they replied back. Seems that Florida Space Coast has had this for a while now, mentioned they only go to the lighthouse for about one hour.

I asked how that compares to the new NASA tour Rise to Space. They mentioned both tours stay at the lighthouse for about one hour, with the NASA tour concentrating more on the history of the launch pads, and Florida Space Coast tour concentrating on the lighthouse.

Anyone know about the Florida Space Coast lighthouse tour? I've copied their webpage below - Canaveral Lighthouse Tours. Mentions that they go to some of the launch site too.

Length of tour is approximately 4 hours

A stop at the lighthouse is approximately 1 hour and a Lighthouse docent provides a guided tour. The first 5 floors of the lighthouse are available for touring as well as the museum, gift store and grounds surrounding lighthouse, weather permitting.

We visit historic spaceflight complexes, including launch complex 14, the site of Mercury missions, the first manned orbital flights. Launch pad 34, the launch site of the Saturn 1 & 1b launch vehicles and Apollo launches. As well as photo opportunities of space program monuments and memorials. Views of current launch complexes and programs that are our next step into space, the moon and mars. Visit to Space Program museum with artifacts and exhibits of Air Force launch vehicles and programs.

Views throughout the tour route include historic cemetery of early settlers, wildlife on vast surroundings of the cape and operational hangers and complexes supporting space exploration.

All times are CT (US)
