Johnson Space Center's Building 35, the former Mission Simulation Development Facility, is being demolished this week as part of NASA's agency-wide strategy to renew and modernize its facilities.Building 35 previously housed the space shuttle Guidance and Navigation Simulator (GNS), which is now in the custody of the Wings of Dreams Museum in Florida. The GNS was a near-exact replica of the Fixed Base Simulator that was in Building 5 (and is now at the Stafford Air and Space Museum). The only difference was that the GNS did not have a Waste Collection System simulator. From flight director Royce Renfrew on Instagram: Crews are razing Building 35 on Fifth Street, the old Mission Simulation Development Facility that was built in 1968.
