Last month (September 2016), Wallops Flight Facility's Visitor Center was awarded a $600,000 grant to improve their programs (STEM specifically).

The planned improvements are a new 920 square foot hands on area for elementary aged kids, improvements to the rocket garden including hands on features, additional outdoor interpretive signs, a countdown clock, and additional elevated seating for launch viewing.

Work is expected to begin spring 2017 and wrap up around late summer of the same year.

I was very fortunate in the last month to be able to visit Wallops Flight Facility.
