The Cosmodôme in Laval, Quebec (Canada) announced on Facebook yesterday (Jan. 24) that it was "now official" that it would be hosting the Apollo 15 command module "Endeavour" for about 12 months. To clarify, what the Cosmodôme is receiving is a replica of the Apollo 15 command module, built by Guard-Lee of Florida. The real spacecraft will continue to be on display at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force in Dayton, Ohio, as confirmed by the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, which owns the capsule. (The photo used to illustrate the Cosmodôme's Facebook post is of the Skylab 2 (SL-3) command module arriving at the Great Lakes Science Center in Cleveland.) | |
