If you go to Dryden for the tour or for a shuttle landing everyone knows where to go. I know him and he has a great place it is a real locals type place, but when you go in there it is like you have met a long lost friend.Bakersfield Californian: 'Right Stuff' restaurateur to see first shuttle launch Within four to six hours of a shuttle spacecraft landing on Edwards Air Force Base's dry lake bed, the crew is in Domingo's Mexican restaurant on Twenty Mule Team Road, chowing down on fajitas and enchiladas, and knocking back Boron water - shots of Gutierrez's $150-a-bottle tequila. After days, maybe even weeks, in space, "those guys are really hungry," says Gutierrez. The 1,600-square-foot restaurant has become the watering hole for today's "right stuff" space explorers and Edwards Air Force Base personnel and families. |

Neat article. Think I'm going to head there for lunch Friday. B-cinco, hold the sour cream.Never been out to meet the astronauts though. Do they close the place down, or can regulars come for meet and greet? I guess I'll have to find out when the next Shuttle lands at Edwards. Hopefully we get at least one more. | |
