Jo Schirra is shown leaving the Mission Control Center in Houston on the fourth day of the Apollo 7 mission, holding a wirephoto of the day's television transmission from space. Her husband Wally was commander of the first manned Apollo mission in October 1968. Other crewmembers were Donn Eisele and Walt Cunningham.

Hard to believe it's been 55 years...
That was amazing history and also underscores how bold Apollo 8 was... to go from the first manned Apollo flight to straight to the moon, in just two months! So glad to have been alive during this period and to have witnessed all this "live." Truly remarkable times.
