Fifty years ago today, the last Saturn V rocket stood on Launch Pad 39A at the Kennedy Space Center, ready to launch America's first space station Skylab. That would be the beginning of a year of first setbacks, but eventually triumph.

I do not believe that I have ever seen an image of Skylab on the pad at night.
