In January 1966, a NASA photographer without acrophobia took this photo of the launch stand of Mobile Launcher #3, as seen from the end of its crane. Construction of ML-3 began in 1964 and was completed with the installation of the hammerhead crane on March 1, 1965. The swing arms were added at a later date. The first launch from this Mobile Launcher was Apollo 10 in May 1969. |
