Space shuttle Endeavour is bathed in xenon lights after being secured on Launch Pad 39B at the Kennedy Space Center on April 17, 2009. On either side of the pad are two of the new lightning towers erected for NASA's Constellation Program. Endeavour was being prepared for liftoff in the unlikely event that a rescue mission would be necessary following launch of Atlantis on mission STS-125.
