The Gemini 6 spacecraft casts a shadow on its sister ship Gemini 7 during the historic first space rendezvous on December 15, 1965. Gemini 6 pilot Tom Stafford took this picture as command pilot Wally Schirra flew the spacecraft to within several feet of Gemini 7, crewed by Frank Borman and Jim Lovell.

I contend that Gemini was the most exciting of all of our space programs. The launch pace was unprecedented, they had major objectives to accomplish for Apollo — which they did, and I was a young teenager who saw most of the launches from my yard in South Florida. Plus the evening news and newspapers were jammed full of these missions. Thanks for sharing this one!

WAIT... you lived in southern Florida and now live in Maine? There's something wrong with this picture! Like me, I lived on the coast in Florida and now live in Connecticut!
It sure was fun to witness all the goings on in Gemini. Felt like there was really something happening.
